Seven Sunday snippets

(Well actually on Monday)

These flowers are the last hurrah from my cutting garden - Dahliahs are just such wonderful plants that keep on going right up until the first frosts.

This week on BBO was Paul Hollywood’s favourite, bread week. So I decided to make a brioche bread (because it is nice) in the form of a Babka. This rolled and folded bread is very decadent and rich, but as I had a couple of friends coming over for afternoon tea, it was worth it. I made a chocolate one from Yotam Ottolenghi’s modified recipe from Mondomilia.

As always I am trying to improve my lettering skills. I signed up to Design Cuts 2020 Live seminars. Some of these are just amazing especially the ShoutBam live with Tea and Jimbo on their Slayout Lettering Masterclass. Do check it out - it’s free!

Also this week coming I am joining in an actual live class at the Modern Calligraphy Co workshop. Brush lettering is a passion of mine and I am hoping to pick up some new techniques and top tips.

On the podcasts I have discovered a new gem! The Goal Digger - Jenna Kutcher.

I love having friends recommend new people to follow on Instagram. This one who I have been following for a while, and this lovely lady.

On Saturday the Handy Husband and I went for a walk from Twyford to Winchester. And of course I HAD to pop into my all time favourite shop (his not so much) and have a quick wizz round just to see if I could identify any needs!

Is it too early to be thinking about buying pumpkins yet?

Have a great week.

Emma
